The 22-year-old actress has adopted her second child with husband Jake Bongiovi, just over a year after the couple welcomed their first baby through adoption. Brown and Bongiovi, 24, have now built a family of four while continuing to keep their children largely outside the spotlight. 

The news arrives a little over two years after Brown and Bongiovi tied the knot in 2024. Their first daughter joined the family in August 2025, when the couple announced that they had welcomed her through adoption and asked to begin parenthood in “peace and privacy.”

On September 7, Brown shared footage from a family trip through Italy’s Dolomites, where she could be seen carrying her daughter while Bongiovi walked beside her wearing a baby carrier. The newest addition was not visible, but in retrospect, the clip offered a fleeting glimpse of a family already larger than the public knew.

However, Brown has had to navigate not only the excitement surrounding her growing family, but also the opinions that inevitably followed her choices as a young wife and mother.

The timing also connects with something Millie Bobby Brown has spoken about more openly in recent months: adoption was not an unexpected route into motherhood for her. During her June appearance on Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, she explained that adoption had been part of her childhood dream, even recalling that she used to pretend her dolls were adopted. 

Her approach became even clearer through a June 2026 UNICEF parenting feature, where Brown spoke about the responsibility she feels raising a daughter and the importance of creating an environment where her child can grow up confident and supported. She has also spoken about wanting her children to have the freedom to decide how much of their lives they eventually share publicly, a notable boundary for someone whose own childhood was lived under constant attention. 

For Brown, then, this second adoption is another step in a family story she has consistently tried to keep on her own terms.
