In the much-anticipated sequel that has been in the works for decades, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will return to the screen as Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel, twenty years after The Devil Wears Prada captivated viewers. Right now, the actors, primarily Hathaway and Streep, are busy with various premieres and press events around the globe to promote The Devil Wears Prada 2. 

On one such promotional event, both actors have been seen flaunting their breathtaking looks in amazing outfits that have wowed everyone.

If there is one thing The Devil Wears Prada bestowed upon the cinematic world, it is fashion, and Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep are committed to upholding it. 

On April 6, Hollywood actresses Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway attended a special event in Tokyo for the movie The Devil Wears Prada 2. Notably, only Hathaway had traveled to Japan when the first movie was released in 2006, so this is the first time the two have traveled there together. The two made an appearance on the red carpet hand in hand at the beginning of the event, dressed in looks from the Chanel and Valentino runways, respectively. 

"Hello Tokyo! Thank you very much. I'm so happy to be here during cherry blossom season," said Streep while greeting the crowd in Japanese, as per ManTan Web.

This is Streep’s first visit to Japan in a decade. She was last there in 2016 for the Tokyo International Film Festival. It was a happy occasion for Hathaway too to travel to Japan for the first time in around 13 and a half years, since the end of 2012 when she came to promote Les Misérables alongside co-stars Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried.

"Hello, Tokyo! Thank you for creating such wonderful memories. I've received so much love and energy from everyone that I'm speechless; it feels like I'm dreaming," Hathaway said in Japanese, as well.

Besides the two Oscar-winning actresses, K from the well-known boy band &TEAM also attended the function. The event was a success as far as promotions for the movie go, amplifying the buzz for the upcoming film. There were also a lot of discussions about the duo’s latest collaboration and what it entails. 

The most exciting of those discussions was what Anne Hathaway said about her first reaction to the script for the sequel.

At the grand fan event in Tokyo on April 6, the duo talked a lot about The Devil Wears Prada 2 in an effort to generate much hype for the movie in the country. Hathaway talked about the movie's script and getting back together with Streep on the big screen after twenty years while interacting with fans on stage.

“My first thought was, ‘Did Meryl read it yet? What did she think?’ And then I heard yes, Meryl did read it, and she loved it. Well, this has to be amazing," she revealed while talking about her first reactions to the script at the Tokyo event.

She took a sigh of relief when she read the whole script and found it to be everything she had hoped for in the story that took almost two decades to take shape. She further claimed that what writer Aline Brosh McKenna has in store for the characters Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel is well beyond what anyone would have imagined. Nevertheless, the show turned out to be more than Streep and Hathaway’s breathtaking looks, and fans also got some new details about The Devil Wears Prada 2.
