Meghan Markle’s return to the United Kingdom hinges on Prince Harry’s ongoing battle to regain police protection on British soil. The Duke of Sussex requested a full risk assessment last year, which was granted, raising hopes within his camp. A source close to the Sussexes told The Sunday Times recently that once Prince Harry's security is reinstated, it would pave the way for Meghan Markle and their children to visit the UK safely.
“I think she would come back with him and the children,” the source said. “They love doing things together as a family whenever they can, and when they undertake philanthropic activities as a couple, they often bring the children along privately,” they added.

Meghan Markle has not been back to the UK since September 2022, when she and Prince Harry took part in events surrounding the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princee Lilibet, four, last visited in June 2022, per The Sunday Times. The family has remained in California, over the years, while Prince Harry has visited Britain several times, including a trip during which he reunited with his father, King Charles III.
The reunion was seen by many as a softening of years of tension between Prince Harry and his family.

Prince Harry and King Charles III last met in person in September 2025, at Clarence House in London. The father and son sat down for a private tea that lasted about 50 to 55 minutes, marking their first face-to-face meeting in roughly 18 months. It was widely viewed as a hopeful sign that royal relations may finally be starting to heal after Prince Harry's exit from the monarchy in 2020.
