Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Son, Prince Archie’s Name Might Have Been the One Prince George Preferred

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have grown apart from the royal family over the years. While Megxit is part of the narrative, the Sussexes’ bombshell revelations also became a huge cause for ruffling the feathers of the family. Several royal insiders and sources have confirmed that there is no room for reconciliation between Wales and the Sussexes. A year before the infamous Megxit, which marked the beginning of all the turmoil, a source shared that Wales’ son, Prince George’s preference for Prince Archie’s name. 

Prince George, who is six years older than Prince Archie, knew the Sussexes’ first-born’s name even before he came into the world.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child in May 2019. Earlier that year, Prince George went on an outing with his dog, Princess Charlotte, and his grandma, Carole Middleton, near the Middleton family home in Berkshire. During the outing, Prince George saw an adorable dog of an anonymous woman and stroked it with affection. When the woman asked Prince George his name, he replied, “I am called Archie”, as she revealed in an interview with The Sun in January 2019

This event took place four months before Prince Archie got his name. “I don’t know why he calls himself Archie,” said the woman who already knew Prince George’s name. Prince George also likes to call himself PG, his initials, which then later went on to become PG Tips. Sometimes the 10-year-old also calls himself Tips. However, nicknaming in the royal family is not exclusive to Prince George.

As per sources, King Charles liked calling Meghan Markle “tungsten, as he believed her to be extremely strong. Meanwhile, Prince Harry, in his young days, used to call himself Spike Wells, which is the name he used for his Facebook handle as well.

Prince William got a nickname called Willy Wombat, which is a name Princess Diana liked to call him by. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton had a childhood nickname of Squeak. While the nicknames are certainly a way for the royals to express their affection towards each other, they also serve security purposes. Nonetheless, it is still heartwarming to discover the affectionate nicknames the royals have for one another
