Meghan Markle seems to have found a new favorite habit: sprinkling her Instagram with sweet little windows into family life. From sharing rare snaps for Prince Archie’s seventh birthday to joking about chickens with a “chicken tenders” kitchen towel, the Duchess of Sussex has been keeping things personal, playful, and decidedly family-focused.
So, with Prince Harry celebrating his birthday today, it only made sense for Meghan Markle to keep that personal touch going, giving her very special person a sweet Instagram shoutout.
Meghan Markle celebrates Prince Harry's birthday
Meghan Markle gave Prince Harry a birthday celebration that was equal parts romantic and playful on Instagram. In an Instagram Story, the Duchess of Sussex shared a candid car video from their drive through the British countryside, first filming the lush greenery before turning the camera toward Prince Harry. The birthday boy responded with a wonderfully silly face.
The main Instagram tribute, posted earlier, was considerably more sentimental, featuring a Reel packed with nine rare family photographs. Set to The Hound + The Fox’s soulful cover of Tina Turner’s ‘Simply the Best,’ the montage showed Prince Harry embracing his role as a father to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“He’s simply the best. Happy birthday, my love,” Meghan Markle wrote in the caption.

The photographs offered a sweet peek at the family’s adventures, from Prince Harry helping Princess Lilibet down a snowy slope to carrying her bicycle and watching her take his Polaroid portrait. Another image showed the Duke of Sussex driving an ATV with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, while Pula ran alongside. The Instagram story added an especially spontaneous finishing touch.
The online birthday love was only the beginning as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked his first birthday in the UK in years.
What Prince Harry's birthday celebrations looked like
Prince Harry’s 42nd birthday had a decidedly low-key feel, with the Duke of Sussex spending time with Meghan Markle and their children at their countryside home. The family reportedly went for a walk, enjoyed lunch locally, and picked up Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from school, a school which they may be changing soon. Back home, Meghan Markle’s lemon olive-oil cake rounded out the day.

The birthday week also brought a glimpse of what comes next, with Prince Harry’s office announcing several September engagements, including an appearance in New York with Bill and Hillary Clinton and a pickleball game with schoolchildren. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace stayed publicly silent, making Meghan Markle’s Instagram tributes the most visible birthday wishes from the Sussexes’ world.
