Meet The Cast of 'The Burbs': The Actors Leading 2026 Peacock Original Dark Comedy
Life behind manicured lawns and polite smiles often looks peaceful from the outside. But beneath routine hellos and neighborhood barbecues, tension, insecurity, and unanswered questions can quietly take root. When familiarity becomes suffocating, and comfort starts to feel staged, even the safest spaces can turn unsettling.
That uneasy balance between normalcy and suspicion sits at the heart of The Burbs, Peacock’s upcoming dark comedy. While the concept nods to a cult classic, what truly brings this reimagining to life is the group of performers stepping into this carefully curated suburban world.
With a cast known for sharp comedic timing and dramatic depth, the series is powered by faces that know how to make silence feel loud and curiosity feel dangerous.

Faces behind the paranoia: The ensemble powering The Burbs
Leading the series is Keke Palmer, who stars as Samira, a sharp, perceptive woman navigating life inside a neighborhood that does not feel quite as welcoming as it appears. Palmer’s mix of wit, emotional nuance, and controlled intensity makes her a compelling focal point, grounding the show’s paranoia in lived-in realism rather than exaggeration.
Jack Whitehall, who plays opposite Keke Palmer as Rob, the husband of Samira, returns to the familiar environment with its complications as well. Whitehall also injects a slightly out-of-place essence into the role with a sense of humor and apprehension.
To complete the neighborhood are Julia Duffy as the quirky Lynn, Paula Pell as the blunt and unpredictable Dana, and Mark Proksch as the bizarre neighbor Tod. Kapil Talwalkar appears as Naveen, whose presence further complicates the already uneasy dynamics of the cul-de-sac. Together, the ensemble transforms even the most ordinary interactions into moments charged with suspicion and sharp dark humor.
But in case everybody has something to conceal, where do you know where the threat really starts?
Plot of The Burbs (2026)
The Burbs follows Samira (Keke Palmer) and Rob (Jack Whitehall), a young couple who reluctantly move back into Rob’s childhood home after becoming new parents. What should be a temporary return to a quiet, familiar suburb quickly becomes unsettling as Samira begins to notice strange behavior from the people living around them.
Her unease escalates when a mysterious new neighbor, Gary (Justin Kirk), moves into the cul-de-sac. His secrecy, odd routines, and evasive interactions trigger Samira’s suspicions, especially as Rob and the rest of the neighborhood dismiss her concerns as overthinking. As days pass, small irregularities, unexplained noises, restricted areas, and whispered conversations begin to stack up.

The deeper Samira looks, the more the suburb’s polished image starts to fracture. Long-buried secrets emerge, revealing a community built on silence and selective blindness. Quirky neighbors like Lynn (Julia Duffy), Dana (Paula Pell), Tod (Mark Proksch), and Naveen (Kapil Talwalkar) contribute to the growing paranoia, each appearing harmless on the surface while hinting at something more troubling beneath.
Blending dark comedy with thriller elements, the series reimagines the original series’ paranoia for a modern audience. The Burbs explores how race, perception, and social conformity influence who is believed and who is ignored, especially in spaces that pride themselves on being “safe.” It is all set to be released on February 8, 2026, on Peacock.
