Meet the Cast of Live- Action 'Tangled': The Talents Trusted With Bringing the Disney Animation to Life

Disney's Tangled arrived like a tiara in the digital age, sparkling with wit, heart, and impossible hair. As the studio's fiftieth animated feature, it gathered 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and more than 592.5 million worldwide. The lantern scene and 'I See the Light' proved fairy tales still understand romance, and maybe, with its magical ability to do things right, the live-action film may fully satisfy Disney fans dreams for the cast too.
After heroic debates about casting, Disney finally pinned down the live-action ensemble, ending speculation as dramatically as Maximus' neigh.
1. Teagan Croft

Teagan Croft, the Australian performer born in 2004, will step into the golden-haired role of Rapunzel in the live-action Tangled. The tower-bound princess requires equal measures of wonder, wit, and courage, qualities Croft already demonstrated while building an international following at a remarkably young age.
The actress first captured global attention as Rachel Roth, also known as Raven, in the DC series Titans, where the brooding superhero demanded emotional intensity and quiet power. Long before that supernatural spotlight, Croft began performing at nine years old, portraying Scout Finch in a stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird, a role that required remarkable composure for a child actor.
The performer’s earlier work includes the science fiction adventure The Osiris Child and the Netflix film True Spirit, where Teagan Croft portrayed young sailor Jessica Watson navigating vast oceans. Offscreen, Croft studies English literature with a minor in music theory and writes songs, suggesting Rapunzel’s artistic hobbies will not require excessive imagination.
2. Milo Manheim
Milo Manheim has drawn the charming outlaw card, portraying Flynn Rider, also known as Eugene Fitzherbert, in the live-action Tangled. The American performer, born in 2001, carries the agreeable burden of delivering roguish smiles, clever lies, and the occasional heroic moment
Milo Manheim rose to fame through the Disney Channel musical franchise Zombies, starring as Zed, a role that demanded energetic singing, dancing, and comedic timing. His performing versatility soon reached a national audience when Milo Manheim competed on Dancing with the Stars, finishing second during the twenty-seventh season and impressing judges with disciplined choreography.
Beyond musical spectacle, Manheim expanded into television drama with the Paramount+ series School Spirits. Film audiences also saw Manheim portray Joseph in the musical Journey to Bethlehem. The performer grew up surrounded by entertainment, as the son of Emmy Award-winning actress Camryn Manheim, and began appearing in stage musicals at just six years old, making him an even intriguing fit for the role.
3. Kathryn Hahn
Kathryn Hahn now claims the role of Mother Gothel, Rapunzel’s suspiciously glamorous captor in the live-action Tangled. The actress, born in 1973, possesses the rare ability to deliver charm, sarcasm, and menace within the same raised eyebrow, making her an ideal Mother Gothel for a fairy tale that belongs to the list of the most comforting animated movies.

Modern audiences recently rediscovered Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision and the spin off Agatha All Along. But long before Marvel magic arrived, Kathryn Hahn perfected the art of stealing scenes in films such as Step Brothers, Bad Moms, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Hahn has also earned several Emmy nominations through dramatic performances in series like Transparent, Tiny Beautiful Things, and Mrs. Fletcher. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, the performer even stepped onto Broadway in Boeing-Boeing, proving that theatrical villains occasionally possess impeccable academic credentials. Should this cast capture even a fraction of the animated film’s charm, Disney’s live-action Tangled may send lanterns floating once more.
