MCU Exec Denies Spider-Man the Best Superhero Title, Picks This DC Hero Instead

DC vs Marvel is an age-old debate that does not really have an answer. The god-like superheroes in the dark world of DC are often compared to the more seemingly human superheroes of the bright and hopeful universe of Marvel. This comparison never ends up in any one party’s favor, as both of them have their strengths and flaws.
The answer also depends on personal preferences and what resonates with one’s own foundational beliefs. But when this belief system leads one to give an answer that defies everyone’s expectations, it becomes a topic of even bigger discourse. This was demonstrated recently by an MCU executive who gave an unforeseen answer to his choice of the best superhero to be a DC one instead of Spider-Man.
This out-of-character choice, while being an insider of the MCU, has built astronomical fascination around his pick.

Who did the MCU exec choose over Spider-Man?
The head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum, made an appearance on episode 167 of The Escape Pod Podcast. During the podcast, the hosts, Andrew Parker and Alex Azor, ask him several questions related to the MCU, right from Avengers: Doomsday to the latest episode of Daredevil: Born Again. But the whole energy of the conversation shifted the minute he picked Batman over Spider-Man.
One of the hosts asked for his opinion on the claim that Spider-Man is the best superhero ever. He disagreed, and after being pressured to reveal his pick, he chose DC’s Batman. The hosts were shocked initially by the change of lanes, but were more interested in his reasoning behind the pick.
“He's the goat. Spider-Man is a close second. They both have amazing rogue galleries. Batman is a human being, so has the aspirational edge a little bit,” Winderbaum said, explaining his stance.
He further adds that he likes Batman for basically two reasons. The first being the Rogues' Gallery that the Caped Crusader fights, it includes some of the most devious and sinister guys, like Joker and Penguin. The second reason is actually the extension of the first one. According to him, the Batman stories sometimes let the antagonist take center stage while he poses as an external threat to the antagonist's journey, which he finds to be an interesting storytelling device.
It cannot be said for sure, but Brad Winderbaum’s answer was on point with Spider-Man: Brand New Day looming on the horizon with a July 31 release.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is ready to hit the theaters
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is all set to continue the franchise’s impeccable track record of box-office success with a new twist in Peter Parker’s story. The trailer of the upcoming release has already dropped, and it has been garnering record viewership since then. The trailer, dropped on March 18, suggests that the fourth installment of the franchise is everything it promised to be.
