Kate Hudson pens a heartfelt tribute on social media for her tennis partner, Matthew Perry after his tragic and sudden passing.

Matthew Perry’s Love for Tennis Shines Through as Kate Hudson Pays Her Respects to the ‘Friends’ Star

Who can ever forget the man behind Chandler Bing? Matthew Perry brought joy and
laughter to various generations. However, while he may have given fans their
happy space in Friends, his own seemed to be playing or watching tennis. In
fact, his last public outing was at the French Open in Paris. While social media
has recently been filled with posts grieving the loss of the NBC sitcom star,
Kate Hudson took a different route.

The Bride Wars actress shared a heartfelt tribute to the iconic actor, however,
instead of focusing on the 54-year-old’s achievements, she chose to let his love
for tennis shine through.

tragic event. She posted a picture of the two together at the 2004 MTV Movie
Awards. While the picture showed the stars laughing and having a good time, it
was her emotional caption that left everyone who saw it close to tears. Apart
from saying that “to know him was to adore him,” she also shone a light on her
relationship with him.

She captioned the picture, “We played tennis and played more tennis, talked
endlessly about trials and tribulations of love and then would talk some more as
we would laugh our asses off and then laughed some more.” While the laughter and
jokes seem to sync perfectly with everything fans know about Matthew Perry, it
was his love for tennis that gained attention.

While the world was grieving their favorite comedian, Kate Hudson seemed to be
grieving the loss of her tennis partner and good friend. However, Matthew
Perry’s love for tennis came long before he ever made his way into the
spotlight.

MATTHEW PERRY’S LOVE FOR TENNIS

While Matthew Perry may have been a once-in-a-lifetime type of comedian, that
was not always his career plan. Back when he was younger, the star had dreamed
of professionally getting into the sport. Although he was one of the best tennis
stars in Canada, he soon realized that the world of sports was not for him.
While that realization may have come after a rather difficult loss in a Los
Angeles match, his love for the sport never died.

Even though Perry chose to give up on his dreams of becoming a world-renowned
tennis player, he did not shy away from catching a game every once in a while.
In fact, he even loved playing the sport years after backing down from it
professionally. So much so that his loss is being felt throughout the tennis
community with tributes pouring in from all over the world.
