Matt Damon’s stunt double for The Odyssey has revealed the tough training routine that allowed her to be a part of Christopher Nolan’s epic. Nolan is the magician of the screen when it comes to creating spectacular visuals without the aid of computer-generated imagery or a green screen.

Some of the things he conjured in The Odyssey were straight up masterful, considering it was all done without much help from modern technology. The scene involving the Laestrygonians or the giants was one of them. The scene employed several small stuntmen for Odysseus and his men, while the giants were 7-foot-tall men. Among them, the stunt double for Damon received widespread attention.

Now, the stuntman has revealed the training routine that helped her play Damon’s part so well.

Devyn Dalton, a stunt performer, has shared details about her highly regarded role as Matt Damon's double in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Damon recently complimented the 34-year-old's role in the movie, saying Dalton had the greatest arms he has ever seen. In one of the most iconic scenes in the movie, the 4-foot-5-inch actor battles 7-foot-tall stuntmen who are portraying giants.

In an interview with the New York Post, Dalton called her scenes' use of forced perspective movie magic. Since 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dalton has been performing stunt roles. She keeps up a rigorous regimen of yoga, weight conditioning, boxing, and weapon practice because she never knows when she could be asked to participate in a production.

She continued in the same interview with the New York Post by saying that years of establishing connections in Hollywood had led to her role in The Odyssey. According to her, roles like this do not come easily, and one has to build trust in the industry through years of hard work, and only then does a movie like The Odyssey come along.

Furthermore, Dalton is grateful for the praise she got from Matt Damon for her performance in the movie.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Matt Damon described how Nolan employed a method known as "forced perspective" to make Odysseus and his troop of men seem diminutive in comparison to the Laestrygonians. He further praised Devyn Dalton, and now she has expressed her gratitude for the nice compliments from the actor.

She further added that stunt work is often assumed to be a male profession, but it is not the case. There are a lot of women in the profession, and they have all worked hard to open the doors to recognition, but it is still tough for them. Anyhow, the movie has been getting praise and massive box office returns thanks to performances and scenes like these.
