He firmly picked The Drama, calling Zendaya “sensational” and making it sound like the easiest decision imaginable. Matt Damon agreed that Zendaya keeps getting better, while Holland recalled texting him immediately after watching the film. Apparently, even among Spider-Man and Jason Bourne royalty, Zendaya debates get serious.

Still, Matt Damon’s kids might have a point, considering Zendaya’s Rue Bennett stands among the most distinctive roles the actress has taken on.

In Euphoria, the actress sheds the polished sheen associated with her Disney Channel beginnings and glamorous public persona. Her exhausted posture, stripped-back appearance, biting narration, and emotional volatility make Rue feel painfully unvarnished.

The real trick is that Zendaya never turns Rue into a tidy lesson about addiction or grief.
