Marvel’s Open Warning in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Gets the Loudest Response From Internet

If 2026 has taught moviegoers anything, it is that going to the theater has become practically a weekly appointment. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, Project Hail Mary, and original hits like Obsession filling the calendar, audiences could have made more than ten cinema trips this year alone. Yet with Avengers: Doomsday still looming as the major theatrical event, Marvel Studios has had to issue a very specific reminder: Silence Your Phones.
Marvel Studios has therefore released a Silence Your Phones PSA, because apparently even repeated cinema attendance has not taught audiences the ancient art of shutting up and shutting down. The advertisement gathers an outrageous collection of Avengers: Doomsday stars, while the internet has reached a simpler conclusion that their phones may indeed be silenced. The screaming, however, is another matter entirely.
The PSA begins with Doctor Doom emerging from an ominous special look at Avengers: Doomsday, delivering his suitably Doomish "I am Doom" declaration. Then, because peace is apparently forbidden in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a smartphone ringtone shatters the moment. We cut to a theater packed with superheroes, where the audience reacts as though someone has committed a personal offense against cinema itself.

Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four heroes fill the seats, complete with popcorn and considerable indignation in the new promo released by Marvel Studios. Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova delivers the clearest verdict, furiously waving her hands and shouting "No, no, no!" before the screen orders everyone to silence their devices. Robert Downey Jr. wisely remains outside the skit, while everyone from Simu Liu to Chris Hemsworth to Channing Tatum provides enough diverse star power to make the average theater look criminally undercast.
And while the promo itself delivered the joke, the internet quickly took over, turning Marvel’s simple phone-silencing request into a hilarious countdown to the screaming, which may be an obstacle that the Russo Brothers would find more challenging than handling MCU heroes.
The internet is ready to scream after Marvel's silence your phone promo
Marvel Studios may have simply wanted audiences to silence their phones, but the Avengers: Doomsday promo has landed as a surprisingly funny and perfectly on-brand warning. The internet immediately understood the assignment, joking that Marvel clearly knows audiences will be anything but quiet once the film begins. After all, this is Avengers: Doomsday we are talking about.
"If Thor has to personally summon interstellar lightning just to get people to stop scrolling TikTok in a dark theater, then cinema etiquette is completely cooked," one fan wrote.
"Marvel really said “Silence your phone… or the Avengers will handle it,” another fan joked.
"Assembled and ready. Phones silenced, popcorn in hand, and full respect for everyone in the theater. Can’t wait to experience Avengers: Doomsday the way it was meant to be seen on December 18," one user shared.
"Yeah, they’re not playing with this one," another fan noted.
"OMG, that's SO them! they're just giving us a heads up, like we're gonna be THAT dramatic... " another user reacted.
"they really said silence your phone like we’re not about to scream the second this starts marvel knows exactly what they’re doing with this one " one fan added.

And naturally, others noticed that Marvel Studios practically predicted the audience reaction itself. The studio knew fans were going to be dramatic, and fans know they are going to be dramatic, too. So the warning feels wonderfully self-aware rather than merely practical. Avengers: Doomsday arrives December 18, and Marvel Studios is evidently not playing around with the spectacle.
