After much anticipation over who would return as Captain America, Avengers: Doomsday is finally gearing up to hit the big screen. The brief trailer has already sent excitement levels soaring. Netflix has officially confirmed that Chris Evans is returning as Captain America. The newly released trailer gives quite an emotional and nostalgic glimpse of Steve Rogers, showing him walking up to his home after getting off his bike. Soon, this scene is followed by a moment where Evans is seen holding a baby in his arms.

While the official trailer has sent expectations soaring, Marvel Hawkeye Jeremy Renner also joined the fans by resharing it on X.

"Very cool," he wrote with clapping hands emojis.

Now, what makes this return even more surprising is that Evans had previously suggested during the press tour for Materialists that he would not be playing in the MCU movie. Much to fans' hopes, he is back for the role. However, Marvel has stayed tight-lipped about Steve Rogers’ future.

Apart from Evans, there is another actor making headlines. Avengers: Doomsday will also see Robert Downey Jr. return to the franchise. Best known for playing Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. will be taking on the role of villain, Doctor Doom.
