Martin Scorsese and Francesca Scorsese have built one of those rare father-daughter bonds that feels both playful and creative, and fans have seen plenty of that chemistry online through her TikToks. He often pops up in her videos with a mix of deadpan charm and affectionate confusion, which makes their dynamic feel warm rather than staged.
Now that energy has turned into something far bigger, with Martin stepping in front of the camera for a Lavazza branded series directed by Francesca.

The five-episode series, titled Family Blend, casts Martin Scorsese opposite Francesca Scorsese and includes appearances from Jason Biggs and Adrien Brody. Lavazza says the project celebrates the magic of coffee while exploring shared memories, artistic inheritance, and emotional connections across generations. It was filmed in locations tied to Scorsese’s life, including Little Italy in New York and his virtual production center in Brooklyn.

The rollout is unfolding across the brand’s social channels, with new episodes arriving monthly through November. The first chapter, “But First … Coffee,” was shot at the NYU Virtual Production Center, while later episodes trace the Scorsese family’s New York roots through different settings and moments.
Francesca leans into humor as well, especially in the finale, where she nudges her father out of his comfort zone and asks him to try something beyond his usual black coffee. That small moment captures the tone of the series, which feels less like a polished campaign and more like a genuine exchange between two creatives who happen to be family.
As the campaign celebrates legacy, Scorsese’s next film is already building anticipation.
A new literary adaptation takes shape under Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese is lining up another major project, adapting the novel What Happens at Night with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence attached to star. The story follows an American couple traveling to a snowy European city to adopt a child, only to find themselves trapped in a strange hotel filled with unsettling figures and a growing sense of unease.

The project would continue the long-running collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio, one of the most celebrated director-actor pairings in modern cinema. It would also mark Scorsese’s first time directing Lawrence, though he has already worked with her as a producer on Die My Love. DiCaprio and Lawrence previously shared the screen in Don’t Look Up, adding familiarity to the pairing.
Apple Original Films has a strong history with all three, having backed Killers of the Flower Moon and collaborated with Lawrence on Causeway. With Patrick Marber adapting the screenplay, the film is shaping up to be a high-profile literary adaptation with serious awards potential.
