'Marshals': Meet the Cast of 'Yellowstone'’s Latest Spinoff

The story of the Yellowstone ranches is expanding beyond its vast, windswept lands. The hit series Yellowstone, created by Taylor Sheridan, has grown into a sprawling universe and is set for multiple spin-offs. Both The Madison and Dutton Ranch are set to follow beloved characters from the original series and new names as they face conflicts and chaos.

The latest series, Marshals, set to arrive this year, will focus on the youngest son of John Dutton. And several actors are returning to reprise their roles in the latest spin-off. So, here is a closer look at the familiar faces and the new ones joining Marshals.

Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton: Grimes, known for American Sniper, has appeared as John Dutton’s youngest son, Kayce Dutton, in the last 5 seasons of Yellowstone. The actor and musician will return to reprise his role.

Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater: Birmingham, who has earlier appeared in Twilight and Under the Banner of Heaven, played the role of Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone. He will also return to reprise his role.

Brecken Merrill Tate Dutton: Another Yellowstone actor to star in Marshals is Merrill. The actor previously played a role in Lifeline. He played the role of Kayce and Monica Dutton’s son, Tate. 

Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz: Ash Santos, who is known for her role in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, later appeared in Pulse, will play the role of federal agent Andrea. 

Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner: Many might recognize Kebbel from John Tucker Must Die, The Vampire Diaries, Aquamarine, and The Uninvited. She will play the role of Skinner.

Mo Brings Plenty as Mo: Mo Brings Plenty known for Jurassic World Dominion and The Good Lord Bird, will return to reprise his role as Mo in Marshals. 

The return of both familiar faces and new characters clearly indicates new drama. The plot of the show will follow familiar character Kayce as he joins the U.S. Marshals. While he will protect the land and people, Kayce will also have to deal with family conflicts.

And actor Grimes has also hinted at how things will be different for the character this time.

Luke Grimes talks about reprising Kayce in Marshals

Luke Grimes is well known to the Yellowstone fandom as Kayce Dutton. The original series showed his intense romance with Monica and family conflicts. However, as Grimes recently shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming show will explore more layers of his character, Kayce.

“But in this show, you get to see a bit of a lighter side—but not too light! It’s not fluffy or anything,” he said.

He further spoke about how he feels close to his character, Kayce.

“I was really surprised by how quickly my soul and my mind wanted to dive back into that,” he added.

And fans will also get to see Grime’s return soon when the Yellowstones’ first sequel will be available to stream on March 1, 2026.
