‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Star Frankie Muniz Deletes Divorce Video Amid Backlash, Estranged Wife Fires Back at Critics

Frankie Muniz and Paige Price Muniz's divorce announcement video has sparked major conversation online, with much of the response being critical. However, Paige Price was quick to defend her now ex-husband. Divorce is never easy, and the same remains true for celebrity couples whose personal lives are constantly under public scrutiny.

As Frankie Muniz and his wife ended their marriage after 10 years together, the Malcolm in the Middle actor shared a heartfelt video to announce the difficult news to fans. But as it followed an unexpected response, Paige Price Muniz spoke out, calling the backlash unfair.

After Frankie Muniz's divorce announcement video was criticized online, the Malcolm in the Middle actor quickly took it down and shared the news in a new post. However, his wife, Paige Price Muniz, was quick to point out that people online were being harsh and the video should not have been deleted. She took to the comments on the post to share her thoughts and called out the backlash.

"Frankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old fun video of our family because people are so cruel to you." "This world is so f******... divorce is bad, sure — it's not like we're excited about it... but we're two adults who know how to be on the same team," she wrote. 

According PEOPLE, she also responded to a user who questioned why she commented publicly, saying she had already told Muniz the same thing in private. And she explained that her public comment was to show the same support she had expressed directly to him. Paige Price also seemingly addressed the online backlash on her Instagram Stories, with yet another message.

"The internet is a scary place. I wish you all a kinder sea," over a black-and-white photo of the ocean,” she wrote. 

Paige Price and Frankie Muniz began dating in 2018, after meeting for the first time in 2016, and tied the knot the following year. The couple welcomed their only son, Mauz, in March 2021 and have continued to support each other throughout their relationship. Even after announcing their divorce, Paige publicly defended Frankie against online criticism.

Although the actor later took down the video, which showed the two fondly reminiscing about the happy moments of their life together, many people had already recorded and circulated the clip online.

In the clip, the family danced together to We the Kings' 'Check Yes, Juliet,' with Muniz lifting Mauz at the end and pretending to play him like an air guitar. Alongside the heartwarming video, Frankie announced that he and Paige were getting divorced.

Malcolm in the Middle actor explained that while they had mutually decided to part ways, they would remain friends and continue to co-parent their son. Unfortunately, the original post was eventually taken down. Later, the actor shared another message expressing their feelings and asking for kindness and privacy.
