Marvel fans have been waiting to see what comes next for Vision after WandaVision left his story hanging in a rather complicated place. With White Vision still grappling with the memories and identity of the original synthezoid, VisionQuest promises to explore a side of the MCU hero that has remained largely unexplored. And now, the wait for a first glimpse of the upcoming series has finally paid off.

Marvel surprised attendees at New York Comic Con by screening the first episode of VisionQuest during its Marvel Television and Animation panel on October 8. The unexpected premiere was followed by a wave of early reactions on social media, with viewers praising the series and its connection to WandaVision.

The initial responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with several viewers describing the show as a worthy successor to its predecessor. Some reactions also highlighted its emotional depth, creative storytelling, and exploration of Vision's complicated relationship with his past.

For those who need a refresher, VisionQuest is the final chapter in the loosely connected trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Paul Bettany returns as White Vision, with James Spader reprising his role as Ultron. The series will explore Vision's search for identity and purpose as he confronts familiar faces and pieces of his past. The show is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. With the first episode now out in the world for a select audience, the early verdict suggests Marvel may have another intriguing chapter on its hands.

‘VisionQuest’ takes overs everyone's mind at the NYCC

The early responses to VisionQuest have been particularly encouraging for fans hoping the series will give White Vision's story the emotional payoff it deserves. From praise for its connection to WandaVision to excitement over its creative approach, viewers are already sharing their thoughts on Marvel's latest Disney+ series.

"#VisionQuest is a worthy successor to WandaVision and it feels like a love letter to Wanda Maximoff at times. It tackles the themes of love, grief, generational trauma, and identity. The relationship between Tommy and Vision will leave you wanting more from this family. James Spader is a delight and Emily Hampshire is a surprisingly entertaining addition. More to come…,” Nexus Point News’ Demet Koc wrote on X.

"#VisionQuest is a fantastic sequel to WandaVision. It’s smart, weird, ambitious, and creative with a beating father/son heart. My favorite part; it seems to love being a part of the MCU and embracing as many corners as it can. As a longtime fan, it’s very rewarding. Loved it.," said Brandon Davis of The Brandon Davis Show.

“The chemistry between Paul Bettany & James Spader is off the charts, & #VisionQuest is a worthy conclusion to the #WandaVision trilogy. It drags a bit in the middle, but it’s an Easter Egg filled mystery that starts & ends beautifully well. Emily Hampshire is a sneaky all-star!,” said Agents of Fandom’s TJ Zwarych.

The Movie Podcast's Danile Baptista said: "#VISIONQUEST is trippy, transcendent, and totally terrific. It’s also a surprisingly transformative and thoughtful exploration of the beauty and humanity behind the machine. Terry Matalas has created a deeply moving and visually stunning series that finds genuine emotion at its core. Paul Bettany and James Spader have never been better."

"Went into VisionQuest completely blind. What a ride! WandaVision was about Wanda confronting her grief & #VisionQuest is about Vision doing the same. James Spader makes a PHENOMENAL return to the MCU. Paul Bettany is as brilliant as ever! Ruaridh Mollica is an incredible addition," said Mama Geeky's Tessa Smith.

With early reactions pointing to an emotionally rich continuation of WandaVision, VisionQuest could give White Vision the character-driven story fans have been waiting for. Whether it lives up to the early praise remains to be seen, but the NYCC buzz has certainly put the series on Marvel fans’ radar.
