From restricting your water intake to belting out several push-ups with every other breath that you take, fitting into the superhero spandex has never been an easy task. While the physical nuances of the said superhero are a high-rise building in themselves, there are several other nuances that an actor needs to learn before they bring the character on-screen, and as per his own admission, for Liam McIntyre, this was the hardest part.
The push-ups, it turns out, were the forgiving part of the job. What actually broke Liam McIntyre was not Wolverine's body, but how to accurately play him.
Liam McIntyre reveals the hardest part about playing Wolverine
Hugh Jackman has long donned the yellow spandex and adamantium claws, and while Liam McIntyre is not squeezing into the same one, his own, as per his revelation to Discussing Film, is no less gritty. Following the physical transformation, McIntyre revealed how finding the right wavelength to play Wolverine in Marvel's upcoming game was the toughest part.
"It challenged me in ways i had not been challenged as an actor. I found myself looking up rabid dogs and trying to figure out when he goes feral, what does that look like?" McIntyre told Discussing Film.

McIntyre further told Discussing Film how he had watched Cal Dodd and Hugh Jackman and made the decision to not copy them, bringing an authenticity to his portrayal of Wolverine. Given that audiences only recently witnessed a new Wolverine in the form of Henry Cavill and had mixed reactions, it remains to be seen how Liam McIntyre's portrayal will fare.
Unbeknownst to the reactions, Insomniac has left no stone unturned in ensuring that Marvel's Wolverine hits it out of the park.

The storyline of the game follows Wolverine as he searches for answers about his past, and is written by Ross Beeley, Taylor Cyr, and Dough Lieblich. Bringing the story into action will be Liam McIntyre as Wolverine, Krizia Bajos as Jean Grey, and Brett Gibson as Victor Creed. With McIntyre bringing forth his own instinct as Wolverine, it remains to be seen what the players decide , but one thing is clear: for Liam McIntyre, the real fight was never the physical transformation. It was finding a Wolverine worth calling his own.
