Ben Affleck was worried about filming a few particular scenes in the 2003 action-thriller movie Daredevil. The actor starred as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who fought crime in Hell’s Kitchen. However, while Affleck may have been playing the Man Without Fear, the actor had a few concerns about bringing certain moments of the film to life.

Looking back on his time filming alongside his then-co-star and ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, who played Elektra, Affleck shared his concerns.

In Variety’s “Does Ben Affleck Know His Lines?” segment, Ben Affleck was asked about a line from Daredevil. Recalling his experience making the film, the actor shared that the real fun came from filming the fight scenes with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. However, those same scenes, which required intense action, also made him worry that he might end up looking foolish.

“The real fun of that movie was getting to work with Jen doing the fights. She so good at that stuff,” he said, praising Garner.

“I was kind of like, is this going to look like The Matrix or am I going to look like an idiot?” he added.

He had immense appreciation for Garner, and understandably so. Garner was already experienced with action scenes following her work on Alias, which often required intense fight sequences and stunts. So, she knew a thing or two about performing demanding action scenes.

As for the part of Variety’s “Does Ben Affleck Know His Lines?”, Affleck was asked about the line, “Does every guy have to go through all this just to find your name?” And he was able to answer correctly. Now, since then, Garner and Affleck have yet to share the screen again.

However, the former couple came close to starring together in another project before ultimately deciding against it.

Ben Affleck wanted Jennifer Garner in Animals

Ben Affleck had initially wanted Jennifer Garner to take on the role of Abigail in his movie Animals, and the two even discussed the possibility of working together again. With Matt Damon unable to join the cast because he was filming The Odyssey, Affleck stepped in to play Abigail’s husband, Mark Kimball. However, after giving it some thought, Garner ultimately turned down the role, as Affleck revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“We don't want to do that. You just get baggage,” she said, as per Affleck.

Later, Kerry Washington took on the role of Abigail in the film. However, Affleck and Garner could still collaborate in the future, as the actor has expressed interest in working with his former co-star again. While Animals may not have been the right project for them, the two could hopefully reunite for a new project in the future.
