For his compelling espionage thriller, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan enlisted two powerhouses, Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña, and made a series focusing on female-led covert military operations with high-stakes action. Lioness follows a group of female CIA agents who are assigned to go undercover and make friends with women who are top targets of terrorism. After two successful stints, the Paramount series is back for a third season, and the excitement is palpable.

Paramount+ has set the premiere of the third season of Lioness for August 2, 2026. The release date was announced three months after the filming for the upcoming season wrapped in Fort Worth, Texas, in March 2026. Ten months after the season two finale, on October 1, 2025, Paramount+ revealed that the spy thriller series had been renewed for a third season.

The show is just around the corner and is coming soon with some familiar and a few new faces.

According to Paramount+'s Sneak Peak, Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña, the show's leads, will reprise their roles as CIA supervisor Kaitlyn Meade and Lioness lead Joe McNamara, respectively. Production began a few weeks following the announcement of season 3, with Kidman and Saldaña posing on set alongside other cast members, such as James Jordan, LaMonica Garrett, Austen Hébert, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, and Jill Wagner. Ian Bohen has joined the show as a series regular.

The star-studded cast will be thrown into a much more complicated and high-stakes situation in season 3.

Hidden networks, foreign agents, and personal betrayals clash in Lioness season 3. As invisible forces swirl around her life, Joe (Zoe Saldaña) balances duty and home. Joe faces adversaries working in the shadows under the guidance of Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman) and Westfield (Michael Kelly), leaving her to deal with a conflict that now permeates every aspect of her existence.

Lioness season 3 will be available for streaming only on Paramount+ when it debuts. Naturally, Paramount+ is currently the only place to stream every episode of Lioness season 1 and season 2.
