“Titanic and Boogie Nights kind of overlapped in production. Maybe it could have worked out,” the actor stated.
While the role ultimately went to Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo DiCaprio shared in his Actors on Actors chat that Paul Thomas Anderson stayed on his mind for years. He said he closely followed the filmmaker’s work from a distance for decades before finally getting the chance to collaborate with him recently on One Battle After Another, a 2026 Oscars favorite.
