Behind this tense premise is an ensemble led by Patrick Brammall and featuring several acclaimed Australian and British performers.

Patrick Brammall as Ian Ridley: Brammall plays a former police detective who now works as an emergency dispatcher after his young daughter Maggie disappeared. Known for Colin from Accounts and Evil, Brammall anchors the series around Ian’s obsession with finding her.

Brendan Cowell as Henry Reid: Cowell portrays a central figure connected to the mystery surrounding Maggie’s disappearance. His credits include Dune: Prophecy.

Maxine Peake as Jenna Reid: Peake brings an established British screen presence to the thriller, following acclaimed work in Black Mirror and Say Nothing.

Daniel Henshall as Donald Reid: Henshall, recognized for Mickey 17 and How to Make Gravy, joins the ensemble surrounding Ian’s investigation.

Jessica Wren as Debbie McGuire: Wren, whose credits include Mr Inbetween and Devil’s Playground, is part of the series’ wider mystery ensemble.

That call is only the beginning, because Ian’s search quickly becomes a dangerous journey through his daughter’s disappearance.

Last Seen follows Ian Ridley, whose life collapsed after his young daughter Maggie vanished without a trace 11 years earlier. He now works as a police dispatcher and has refused to accept that Maggie is gone. Everything changes when a teenage girl makes a distress call and Ian becomes convinced that she could be his missing daughter. He then risks everything to find her and rebuild his broken family.

The series is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s CWA John Creasey Dagger Award-winning novel The Dispatcher. Kris Mrksa adapted the book for television, while Christian Schwochow directs and executive produces. The six-episode Australian thriller was set and filmed in Victoria.

Apple TV will premiere Last Seen globally on September 9, 2026. The first two episodes will arrive together, followed by one new episode each Wednesday through October 7.

Last Seen was originally developed under the title The Dispatcher before Apple TV adopted its current name. The series is an Australian production with UK involvement and is produced by 60Forty Films and Werner Film Productions. Christian Schwochow directs all six episodes.

His previous work includes The Crown, Munich: The Edge of War and Bad Banks. Kris Mrksa serves as writer and executive producer, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta and Joanna Werner also executive producing. Apple TV classifies the series as a thriller and mystery, while its official listing carries a TV-MA rating in the United States with warnings for language and violence.

The episode rollout is straightforward: Episodes 1 and 2 arrive September 9, Episode 3 follows September 16, Episode 4 on September 23, Episode 5 on September 30, and Episode 6 concludes the season on October 7.
