Marvin 'Krondon' Jones III may be best known for playing Tobias Whale on the TV series Black Lightning. However, the actor first made his impact in music as the frontman of the West Coast hip-hop group Strong Arm Steady. Apart from his successful rap career, he has also made a place for himself in Hollywood, including working on Marvel projects. What many might not know is that Krondon has a rare genetic condition called albinism.

However, he has never let the condition define or limit him. As he continues to grow his acting and music career, he has spoken openly about what it is like living with albinism.

Marvin 'Krondon' Jones III is an African American man with a rare genetic condition of albinism. However, he explains that this condition has given him a unique perspective on race and identity. He said he was raised in a Black family and community in South Central Los Angeles but is often perceived differently because of his appearance, allowing him to see the world from multiple perspectives.

“I live in the black experience, but at the same time I understand the invalid idea that color decides who a man is. … Another thing is, any room I walk in, 99.9 percent of the time, no one else looks like me. I’m a completely unique individual, able to create my own attention and attraction,” he told Andscape.

During his interview, Krondon also said his appearance has made him embrace his individuality. And he has the same message for all the other people who have a similar genetic condition. This condition affects approximately 1 in 20,000 people in the United States. When asked by The Andscape, he shared a wholesome few words for those with albinism to inspire them.

“You are an angel from God. It is not a coincidence that you are unique. Your beauty comes once in 30,000 … and there is nothing that you can’t do, except sit in the sun,” he said.
