Kristen Stewart and her wife, Dylan Meyer, were on the same page while working on The Wrong Girls. However, there is one thing Stewart seemingly could not convince Meyer of, and that is The Eagles’ 1976 rock classic 'Hotel California.' The song is undeniably one of the biggest hits of its era. 

However, the rock anthem has also been surrounded by numerous stories, rumors, and theories over the years. As Stewart revealed, her wife also seems to have an issue with the iconic song.

Kristen Stewart recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about her upcoming film, The Wrong Girls, which is written and directed by her wife, Dylan Meyer. While discussing the film’s soundtrack, Stewart was asked whether there was any song they did not want in the film. The actress revealed that they seemingly have one, sharing Meyer’s superstition about The Eagles’ 'Hotel California.'

“So she has this thing about Hotel California. It's like an omen. It's like very bad things can happen when that song pops up (for Meyer),” Stewart said. “I'm like, dude, storytell your way right out of that.”

But even without the 1976 rock anthem, the film’s soundtrack, featuring music by Ty Segall, is just as fascinating as the plot itself. The Wrong Girls follows two best friends who are codependent on each other and are suddenly thrown into chaos when they become caught up in a case of mistaken identity. The film stars Kristen Stewart as Frankie, while Alia Shawkat plays Molly. 

Seth Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani also join the cast, lending their voices to two cats, Dio and GG, respectively. During the interview, Stewart also opened up about working with Meyer and whether she felt nervous about the collaboration. She said that working with someone she loves is a form of intimacy, further explaining that she enjoyed the process.

Interestingly, Stewart did not land the role simply because she knew Meyer. As Meyer revealed, there was more to Stewart’s casting than their relationship.

During an interview with E! News’ Will Marfuggi, Dylan Meyer revealed that she had long envisioned having Kristen Stewart in the film. She shared that it was even before the two began dating. She even joked that The Wrong Girls was not the reason she started dating Stewart.  

“I actually shared it with her probably seven years before we ever reconnected and started dating,” Meyer said. “When I first met her, I always wanted Kristen to be in the movie.”

During the interview, Stewart also had high praise for Meyer and her working process. She appreciated the director’s gentle approach, which she said inspires others to commit to the project and trust in her vision. The Eagles’ classic may have been ruled out, but there is certainly plenty to look forward to in the film, including how Stewart and Meyer bring their creative chemistry to the screen.
