Kim Kardashian is a well-known name in the TV industry, with her popular reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians. Her rise from a reality TV star to a multi-industry mogul is an astonishing arc over the past decade. Even after critics piling on her recent scripted role for television, her ambition hasn’t wavered even a bit.

And now, while viewers still process All’s fair calling it a cinematic misfire, Kardashian is all set once again to join Ryan Murphy in his next project for TV.

Despite the brutal criticism for All’s Fair, the 2025 legal drama from the initial partnership of Kim Kardashian and Ryan Murphy, Kardashian is poised and ready to set her foot on the next project.

She is allegedly set to play Melinda Farina, the real-life figure and high-end beauty broker who is known to connect wealthy clients to elite cosmetic surgeons as per PageSix.

Murphy will further explore beauty, privilege, and perfection like his recent works, Nip/Tuck, which ran from 2003 to 2010, and his show Beauty, starring Bella Hadid, which is about a virus turning people gorgeous, but carries fatal effects. Much like his fascination with exploring the extreme ends of beauty, Murphy's relationship with Kim Kardashian also goes way back.

Ryan Murphy and Kim Kardashian met through the Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden after Murphy expressed his wish to meet the Kardashians. Walden arranged a dinner with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, where Murphy pitched a reality show. Though they loved the concept, Jenner asked Murphy to create a scripted role for Kardashian, and that is when he came up with her role as Siobhan Corbyn in season 12 of American Horror Story: Delicate.

Later, Kris Jenner and Murphy went to Hulu with their idea of a divorce attorney role for Kim Kardashian, and hence All's Fair came to existence.

Even with Ryan Murphy's perfectionism and Kim Kardashian's sheer dedication to her projects, All's Fair, could not stand out in the minds of the viewers or move the critics for the right reasons.

Why All’s Fair didn’t land well

All’s Fair follows a high-powered female divorce attorney navigating elite Los Angeles society while building her own all-women law firm. Positioning the character of the Kardashian at the center as the independent and bold female protagonist.

The Hulu legal drama, All’s Fair, released in November 2025, and was met with major criticism. So much so that the score on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes plunged to 0%, nearing the historic lows. Even with sleek visuals, designer-ready wardrobes, and an A-list ensemble including Oscar nominees and Emmy winners like Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash‑Betts the series failed to make a mark.

Many viewers felt that the series lacked powerful female storytelling, which came across as hollow, and the high gloss element in the entire series, which sets the affluent background, didn’t sit well with legal drama.

As for Kardashian’s acting, the viewers and critics felt alike that it was stiff and affectless. This made it even harder to establish emotional depth in the storytelling. Yet the show will return with season 2 productions starting in April 2026.

Though Kim Kardashian's comeback is proof of her sheer determination, it also underscores a truth that Hollywood still sees Kardashian as a bankable presence, even when critics do not.
