While he got much fame from the show, Sussman's career and hardwork before The Big Bang Theory is also worth taking a look.
How Kevin Sussman started his acting career
Kevin Sussman's acting career began several years before his breakout role as Stuart in The Big Bang Theory. He began working in the late 1990s and appeared in several television shows, including Ghost Stories and Third Watch. However, a major role for him arrived in 1999 when he was cast in Barry Levinson's cult comedy Liberty Heights.
Following that show, he found more supporting roles in both film and television. In 2001, he appeared in the cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer and even appeared in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi drama A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Sussman also appeared in recurring television roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Sopranos, and ER.
Many might not be aware that the actor has an impressive film resume during the late 1990s and early 2000s. And several of those early films have since become cult favorites and remain popular with viewers today. But some of his best works are truly in television shows.
How Kevin Sussman’s work in television pushed him to fame

Sussman landed his most recognizable role as Stuart Bloom, who is the owner of a comic book store. And once again, Sussman made the character a fan favorite and eventually earned a crucial role over the show's 12-season run. Sussman has also appeared in television series including Weeds, Children's Hospital, and Better Call Saul. And most recently, he appears in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, where the actor and comedian reprised his role as Stuart.
“I guess not so much misunderstood, but [it’s] just an opportunity to see Stuart sort of taking a leadership role in any kind of situation because normally he’s just happy to be invited to something,” Sussman told PEOPLE about his role in the spin-off show. “So now to see him trying to lead a group of people through something, let alone a multiverse apocalypse, I think is gonna be exciting for people.”
