The Multiverse Saga of the MCU continues to expand with new heroes and the long-awaited arrival of the X-Men, and speculation about future casting is at an all-time high. Ryan Gosling has expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider on multiple occasions, while Cynthia Erivo has publicly campaigned for the role of Storm. Now, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has given his take on both fan-favorite casting choices with a hopeful response that has re-ignited excitement. 

Feige's latest comments have reignited speculation about two of Marvel's most talked-about fan castings. 

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has addressed the increasing fan campaign to cast Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider and Cynthia Erivo as Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While talking to Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Feige was asked why the two Oscar nominees had not yet been cast as the iconic Marvel characters. His response to their public interest has created more speculation about the future of Ghost Rider and the X-Men as the MCU continues to grow. 

“You never know what the future may bring. Ryan and Cynthia are very good actors, and Ghost Rider and Storm are great characters”, Feige said, hinting that there is a possibility of them joining the MCU.

Although Kevin Feige stopped short of confirming any casting plans on the podcast, his comments have intensified speculation surrounding Ghost Rider and Storm's MCU future. Both characters have long been rumored to debut in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, where the Multiverse Saga could provide the perfect opportunity to introduce fresh versions without rewriting existing continuity. However, Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm either character. 

Cynthia Erivo's chances of playing Storm have gained momentum after reports suggested Halle Berry will not reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday. This potentially paved the way for a new interpretation of the iconic mutant. Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling has been linked to Ghost Rider for years, having openly expressed interest in the role.

Kevin Feige has not confirmed Ryan Gosling or Cynthia Erivo for the MCU but leaves the door open for future possibilities. Ghost Rider and Storm are still among the most anticipated new additions to the franchise, with Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars and the X-Men reboot set to shake up Marvel’s next phase. Until official casting announcements are made, it is safe to say Gosling and Erivo speculation will continue to be one of the MCU’s biggest talking points.
