Jeremy Allen White wants more rules and regulations around social media. From Facebook and X to TikTok, some of these social media platforms have become a huge part of people’s lives. While they have pros, like helping people from all over the world connect with each other, social media also has disadvantages, especially for young minds.
And White, who stars in Aaron Sorkin’s film The Social Reckoning, believes that there is an idea that might help keep people on social media safe.
Jeremy Allen White calls for one rule for safeguarding
Jeremy Allen White and his The Social Reckoning costar, Mikey Madison, recently sat for an interview with The Rolling Stone Studio. During the conversation, the actor shared a few words about the use of social media. While speaking of safety, he shared that there should be more safeguarding measures for users on social media
“I think there have to be some third party regulators for all of these companies. We have it for air travel; we have it for pharmaceuticals. There are people that are hired to help keep these companies responsible,” he said.

The actor further explained on the show that in Australia and the UK, a ban on social media is being considered for young people, but added that he is not sure how much these measures will help. White questioned how the tech companies are finding out the age of the people, as well as their intentions. He has previously expressed his concerns about social media with Extra and even revealed that he keeps a healthy distance from it.
But his character in his latest movie, The Social Reckoning, will be seen taking on a different role. He is playing the role of a Wall Street Journal reporter, Jeff Horwitz, who works closely with whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison. Jeremy Strong portrayed the billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg, in the film.
Before Strong, Jesse Eisenberg played the role in The Social Network. The actor had previously refused to reprise his role this time, and it is for a surprising reason.
