Netflix shattered fans’ hearts when it canceled the third season of Warrior Nun. Though the OTT giant decided to cancel the show, a disheartened group of fans did not lose hope. They campaigned hard to save the show and their plea reached the ears of the makers. The creator of the show, Simon Barry, took the fandom by storm when he reassured the fans of a “comeback.” Just its future did not lie with Netflix anymore. While he coined the return with expectations of it to be better than ever, he said, “#WarriorNun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine.” But fans did not see a piece of much better news awaiting them.

The graphic novel author and executive producer of the show, Dean English, released a video titled ‘Warrior Nun Saved’ under the same account name. In the YouTube announcement, English smiled as he told his fans that the comic book-based show would come back to their screens as a trilogy. Thanking them for making it “worthwhile,” the producer added, “It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories.”

English also touched upon the effects that the SAG-AFTRA strike might hold on the development of the making. The Canada-born producer added that some fans might have questions about the possibility of the show’s universe expansion and cast details. He replied to that query in advance, stating, “The answer to that question is yes. And there will be more details in the future.”

The show’s exit from Netflix had been because of economic reasons, but the continued support pushed the makers to honor their fans’ requests. Moreover, it is not uncommon for fan favorites to make a rebound on screen in the form of a full-length movie. The famous The Addams Family movie of 1991 was a revival of the 1964’s sitcom, The Addams Family.

In addition, the recent MTV awards-winning show that became Netflix’s #1, Wednesday, was also an expansion into The Addams Family universe. Subsequently, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible film series was a direct continuation of its 1966 and 1988 series Mission: Impossible.
