Scarlett Johansson is apparently unwilling to let a little thing like the multiverse limit her friendship with Jonathan Bailey. The pair have charmed fans with their affectionate red-carpet antics, and Bailey has been just as generous with his praise for the actress. So when Johansson declares that she wants him in the MCU and “in every universe,” it feels less like a casting suggestion and more like a perfectly reasonable demand, as seen from their ongoing rapport.

Honestly, one can practically picture Black Widow cheering from the sidelines as Bailey makes his grand entrance into the MCU, ready to welcome her friend with open arms.

Scarlett Johansson has a multiverse-sized wish list, and Jonathan Bailey has a place on it. Speaking to Metro Entertainment at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of her movie Paper Tiger, the Black Widow star made it clear that she would love to see her fellow Jurassic World Rebirth actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally, her casting wish extends well beyond a single superhero franchise.

“I want to see Jonathan Bailey in every universe!” she said excitedly.

Johansson might be onto something, especially with rumors suggesting that Marvel Studios has its eye on Bailey for Nova. The Bridgerton and Wicked star is reportedly high on the studio's radar to play Richard Rider, the cosmic hero at the center of its developing Nova project. Marvel has yet to confirm the casting, but fans already have a galaxy of reasons to imagine the possibilities.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that a Nova series is in development, although the project has also been reported as a feature film with Michael Waldron attached as writer. Neither format has an official casting announcement for Bailey. Until Marvel makes its plans public, Johansson's enthusiastic endorsement while talking to Metro Entertainment is a fun addition to the conversation surrounding the actor's potential superhero future.

“I’m Hallucinating”- Scarlett Johansson Makes Long-Awaited ‘Paper Tiger’ Premiere Appearance After Skipping Cannes

While Scarlett Johansson wants Jonathan Bailey across every universe and Anne Hathaway hopes to work with her, fans are wondering whether the MCU has room for Black Widow’s comeback.

Marvel fans may be dreaming of a Black Widow comeback, but Scarlett Johansson is not particularly interested in reopening Natasha Romanoff’s final chapter. The actress has repeatedly shut down speculation about reprising the role, including theories surrounding Avengers: Doomsday. For Johansson, Natasha’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame was not a narrative loose end waiting for a multiverse-sized loophole. It was the hero’s moment, and she wants it left intact.

Nor is the actress quietly preparing to guide the franchise from behind the scenes: she has also ended her executive-producing involvement with Marvel Studios. That makes her latest enthusiasm for Jonathan Bailey joining the MCU all the more intriguing, even if fans hoping to see Black Widow beside him may have to settle for the multiverse of their imaginations.
