Favreau experienced genuine excitement and creative joy in weaving their Star Wars characters together. Having previously played an Ardennian cook in Solo: A Star Wars Story, he relished the opportunity to design a related Ardennian character in The Mandalorian & Grogu. He observed that while directors are traditionally accustomed to running the show on their own sets, they often want to have fun when stepping onto someone else's project.

"He was just a lot of fun. It's interesting because, you know, when a director is on their set, they're running the show, but I find when directors are on other people's sets, they just want to play and have fun, and he just had a great time”, he said. Favreau thoroughly enjoyed this dynamic, finding Scorsese to be incredibly fun to work with as they bounced ideas back and forth and leaned into Scorsese's natural talent for improvisation.
