A sound-hunting alien invasion compelling the people on Earth to go radio silent or be hunted by fast-moving, terrifying creatures accounted for an intriguing premise for the 2018 horror/sci-fi film A Quiet Place. The unique approach to building horror and suspense through silence eschewed the traditional horror tropes of loud screams and eerie background scores, doing the heavy lifting for generating tension and jump scares. This inventive concept led to a sequel, A Quiet Place II, in 2020, and a prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, in 2024.

Now, the writer-director, John Krasinski, is back with A Quiet Place III and has just confirmed the commencement of filming.

John Krasinski had confirmed earlier through an interview with Collider that A Quiet Place III will start filming in the week of May 11, 2026. And now, on May 10, 2026, The Office star dropped a post on X (formerly Twitter) confirming the commencement of shooting of the third and final part of the trilogy starring Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and more.

The actor posted a pic of a clapperboard from the set, on which was written Part III. The post was captioned, “Here. We. Go! Part III.” John Krasinski returns to the director’s chair with the third part. He also starred in the original movie, where he sacrificed himself for his family.

John Krasinski, who was busy just until recently with the promotional tour for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War, releasing on Prime Video on May 20, has confirmed that the upcoming movie will be definitive for the Abbott family's fight against the alien invasion. On July 30, 2027, Part III is expected to deliver the trilogy's conclusion.

All that needs to be seen is how John Krasinski has planned this weakness to play out in the Abbot Family’s favor. Although it's unclear if Krasinski will reappear on screen for the third installment, as he did for a flashback in Part II, an outstanding cast of both new and familiar characters is confirmed to appear in the future movie. In addition to Abbott family members Emily Blunt, Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Emmett in the movie.
