John Cena recently appeared on The Pete Davidson Show on Netflix. During his conversation with Pete Davidson, the actor opened up about his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, describing the experience as beautiful. But at the same time, he reminded that his role is not just to grant wishes but also to become a hope for the kids.

“When you agree to do that, you are signing up to be the hope. Be the hope,” he said.

Cena shared on The Pete Davidson Show that working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation is rewarding, but it is also deeply sensitive and emotional. He explained that one must set aside one's own pain and personal struggles to be fully present for the children. He added that some celebrities are able to do that, while some struggle with how emotional this job is.

“I think Make-A-Wish is a beautiful thing. I also don't think it's for everybody, because it is very sensitive, right? It is very emotional,” he said.

“The one thing I don't ever want to do is for some kid to say, ‘The one thing I really want to do is kick it with John Cena’ and me go in there and not be the hope,” he added.
