Joey King is all praise for Zendaya and her impressive approach to method dressing. The Kissing Booth star will soon set out as a young witch to explore the world of magic, potions, and curses alongside Maisie Williams, Nicole Kidman, and Sandra Bullock. But she appears to be casting a few fashion spells of her own off-screen.

King has been turning heads with a string of spellbinding witchy-inspired fits. And it seems the actress may have taken a few notes from one of the best in the method dressing game. As King levels up her fashion game, she did not forget to share a few words praising The Drama actress.

Joey King recently turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of Practical Magic 2 in a mesmerizing black gown that could easily earn the approval of any witch. During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the actress opened up about her love for method dressing and praised Zendaya for inspiring people to dip their toes into the method dressing game. She further spoke about feeling ready to explore and experiment more with her fashion choices. 

"Zendaya is the blueprint. I mean, she does everything perfect, so I feel like I've grown a lot in the fashion world over the years. I was helpless to begin with that, but you know what? I was free, and I was having fun. I was finding myself, and now I feel like I've aged a bit. I've done myself, and I really love just having a lot of fun with my stylist," she said.

King’s stylist, Jared Eng, has been dressing the actress in a series of head-turning looks, including a sheer butter-yellow Miu Miu gown that made headlines. For the London photocall of Practical Magic 2, she wore a sheer black lace Miu Miu top paired with a matching skirt from the Spring 2026 collection. Just like King told Entertainment Tonight, the actress is clearly having fun with playful sleeveless maxis, ruffles, lace, and sheer dresses for the Practical Magic 2 press tour wardrobe.

This comes just weeks after Zendaya made headlines with her method dressing this year.

The devil works hard, but Law Roach works harder. The stylist went all the way to Paris for Daniel Roseberry’s Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture show to handpick a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown for Zendaya, then flew it to London so she could wear it to The Odyssey premiere. The sculptural white Schiaparelli breastplate, paired with a beaded skirt, was reminiscent of Greek sculptures. The same dedication to method dressing was evident in Zendaya’s looks for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where she embraced gowns featuring intricate cobweb designs.

Earlier, she also followed a traditional wedding rhyme, “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” for her film, The Drama. Her fashion choices have only raised the bar, leaving fans wondering how she could outdo herself when the Dune: Part Three promotional campaign begins. As for Joey King, this is only the beginning of her own magical fashion era.
