Spotify is not letting Joe Rogan go anywhere else, renewing their partnership in a multi-year agreement. After Spotify's deal with Rogan in May 2020, the market's reaction was instantaneous, propelling the audio giant's market capitalization up by more than $1.5 billion within minutes.
In the years since, that multimillion-dollar bet has fundamentally transformed the streaming ecosystem. It has served as the ultimate engine for user acquisition, skyrocketing ad sales, and a strategic liberation from the iron grip of major music labels.
This staggering growth has resulted in Spotify handing Joe Rogan a nine-figure deal, keeping him on its platform.

Joe Rogan is staying put at Spotify, signing a fresh multi-year licensing agreement that ensures The Joe Rogan Experience will maintain its broad distribution footprint anchored on the platform. While Spotify opted to keep the financial details under wraps, sources familiar with the negotiations told The Wall Street Journal that the new pact is valued at an impressive $250 million.
“The partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit, and they’re incredible to work with. I’m extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come,” shared Rogan.

Spotify and Joe Rogan first joined forces in 2020 under a blockbuster agreement that initially brought The Joe Rogan Experience exclusively to the platform. By 2024, as Spotify shifted its strategy away from strict platform exclusivity for its major audio assets, the podcast transitioned to a wide distribution model across multiple networks.
The show commands a massive footprint across digital media. It boasts 18 million followers on Spotify - retaining its crown as the platform's most-followed program - and has consistently ranked as the most-listened-to podcast in the US since 2019, according to Edison Research, alongside topping annual charts across Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts. This really justifies the figure reported by The WSJ.
As it happens, Joe Rogan is not the only podcaster in Spotify’s nine-figure club, and there are others who have also been offered similar deals.
Spotify offering big money for big names
Earlier in the year, Spotify came together with Netflix to offer wellness and self-help authority Jay Shetty a nine-figure agreement valued at up to $100 million for his hit podcast, On Purpose. Marking the first time Netflix and Spotify have jointly teamed up to sign a creator, the partnership shifts full-length video episodes of the show exclusively to both platforms starting July 13, 2026, pulling the visual component away from YouTube.
While audio-only versions remain widely accessible on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify assumes the role of global advertising sales representative for the property.

For Spotify, the deal strengthens its ongoing battle against YouTube for video podcast supremacy - capturing younger, visually driven demographics - while securing high-value inventory for its ad network. On the other hand, by joining an elite company like Spotify alongside top-tier names like Joe Rogan and Alex Cooper in the exclusive nine-figure podcast tier, Shetty cements his transition from digital creator to cross-platform media mogul.
