The actor is set to play the role of MI6 agent Jim Prideaux in an upcoming thriller project based on one of the most celebrated names in spy fiction, Legacy of Spies. The news represents yet another major addition to Alwyn’s growing list of screen credits and signals an exciting new chapter for fans of the genre. 

The major casting announcement has emerged for Legacy of Spies, with Joe Alwyn set to step into the world of international espionage in a key role.

Joe Alwyn is lined up to star in the upcoming BBC/MGM+ co-production Legacy of Spies, an espionage thriller. Alwyn will play MI6 agent Jim Prideaux in the eight-part series based on John le Carré’s The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. A charismatic veteran of the circus, Prideaux is a roguish “scalp hunter” whose off-book detours and field exploits cause a stir in London. 

 Makers of the movie, Stephen and Simon Cornwell, brothers, have warmly welcomed the actor for the second time after their collaboration on Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Hugh Laurie has also followed Alwyn, having previously worked with the filmmakers on The Night Manager in 2016.
