Donald Trump and Hollywood have long shared a love-hate relationship, where the former has always loved the latter, but Hollywood has not returned much of the same energy. Recently, when Trump delivered the unexpected and massive blow of foreign movie tariffs, it left the showbiz industry members seething with confusion and rage. And now, when the president has taken some extreme actions with the latest pardons, it did not go well with late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Taking to the preferred platform of his show, Jimmy Kimmel has some biting and mocking remarks to share on the President’s action.

US President Donald Trump has recently issued a full and unconditional pardon for reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were jailed for a multi-million dollar fraud and tax evasion case. And quickly discussing the matter on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host delivered a snarky monologue, saying that Trump has a “soft spot in his heart for fraud.” And when he saw “fellow criminals in need,” he went to their aid. Slipping the biting remark of “You know the J in Donald J stands for Jesus,” he added that Trump has Christ-like generosity.

The couple starred in the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best, which was about their career as property tycoons in Nashville and Atlanta. But three years ago, in June 2022, they were found guilty. Though this is not the first instance of his remarks, Jimmy Kimmel has always called out Donald Trump for his unwarranted attacks on Hollywood that have always created chaos.

Representing the emotions of Hollywood when Trump imposed the tariff, Kimmel was merciless when sharing his thoughts on that action.

It was just a month ago that Donald Trump announced that he would be imposing a 100% tariff on movies made outside the US, declaring, “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA AGAIN!” To this, Jimmy Kimmel shrugged off the whole concept, saying he does not care about a movie’s country of origin, then adding spice, saying on his show, “Trump’s now aiming his wrecking ball at Hollywood.” Prior to that, the host also did not hold back on the matter concerning Taylor Swift.

Back in February, when the pop royalty attended an NFL match where Donald Trump was also present, he shared later that Taylor Swift was booed out of the stadium. Quickly, Jimmy Kimmel came to her defense by sharing that Trump’s remarks were rooted in jealousy, as Swift has “more followers and more money and no kids than he does.” Kimmel, who has recently become a grandfather, has always had Hollywood’s back in front and defended it from Trump’s attack. And with the recent mockery, he has extended his service in national matters as well.
