NBC has recently pulled the plug on Jimmy Fallon’s business reality series, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, after just one season. The Tonight Show host spent much of last year promoting the unscripted competition format, but the network ultimately decided not to go forward with another installment. The cancellation marks a swift end to Fallon’s latest venture into primetime television.
The cancellation also renewed interest in the ambitious concept behind the Fallon-led series and the unique format NBC hoped would connect with viewers.

Last year, Jimmy Fallon even flew to Cannes, France, to promote his business reality format, On Brand. However, it was one and done for the Tonight Show host, as NBC decided to scrap the unscripted series. Created, hosted, and executive produced by Fallon, the show follows him as he launches a marketing agency and fill it up with the most creative, clever, and competitive go-getters he can find.
He was joined by former Netflix marketing chief Bozoma Saint John, a cast member of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. John is serving as On Brand Agency’s Chief Marketing Officer. She mentored the competitors and evaluated their work. For the unversed, Fallon and John teamed up for the new business challenge. They invited 10 people from all over the country to pitch and execute marketing campaigns for eight world-famous brands.
The contestants create billboards on the ground and in the sky, direct commercials with celebrity guests, write musical jingles, and more. Winning ideas would have been chosen by representatives from each brand and used in real-world campaigns. The person who signs up the most accounts wins the “Innovator of the Year” title and the grand prize of $100,000.
Despite its ambitious concept and celebrity-backed format, On Brand ultimately struggled to secure a long-term future at NBC.
Why NBC canceled Jimmy Fallon’s On Brand after only one season
In May 2026, NBC canceled the Tonight Show host’s unscripted business competition series On Brand with Jimmy Fallon after just one season due to low ratings. The show was about creative marketing, but it didn’t get big ratings, and some critics thought it was uninspired. It had a bit of a strange rollout with new episodes on both Tuesdays in the fall at 10 pm as well as on Fridays at 8 pm, before the NBA took over some of these slots.

Many viewers were also not very positive about the Fallon-backed show, with many negative comments seen on social media platforms such as Reddit. As it happened, most critics were just as indifferent to the series as the viewers, with many reviewers achingly clear about what they thought of the short-lived series. On Brand With Jimmy Fallon comes from B17 Entertainment and Universal Television Alternative Studio in association with Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog.
With NBC’s decision not to renew On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, it joins the growing list of celebrity-hosted reality competitions that failed to find a sustainable audience. In the end, the network decided to move on after one season, despite Fallon’s star power and the ambitious marketing-focused concept.
