Jennifer’s Body 2 is reportedly moving ahead at 20th Century Studios, with Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried set to return. The original horror comedy stumbled at the box office before fans eventually adopted it as a proper cult favorite. Since then, the internet has demanded a sequel with the appetite of a cheerleader at a school dance buffet. Patience, it turns out, was all the fandom had left to sacrifice.
While fans have spent over a decade waiting for the sequel to crawl out of development, the latest update finally shows who is climbing back into the lead roles.
Jennifer’s Body 2 brings back Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried
Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried are reportedly reuniting for Jennifer’s Body 2, which is moving forward at 20th Century Studios, according to Daniel Richtman. Fox and director Karyn Kusama’s returns had already been reported by the outlet in July, but Seyfried’s involvement is the latest piece to fall into place. The actress had also hinted that the sequel was gaining momentum during a WWD interview published on October 21, 2026.

According to Daniel Richtman, Diablo Cody has finished the screenplay, with Kusama set to direct again. Cody said on the Petticoat Revolution podcast in October that the sequel is happening imminently. The script leans into Jennifer’s loneliness and insecurity, the softer side that fans tend to skip past. Nothing is official yet; no release date or plot details exist, and the October Vancouver start listed by Production Weekly has shifted.
While Jennifer’s Body 2 waits for an official green light, Amanda Seyfried is already stacking up serious cinema credits elsewhere.
Amanda Seyfried joins Cate Blanchett and Selena Gomez in The Origin of the World
Amanda Seyfried has been cast in The Origin of the World, the next feature from Brady Corbet after his Oscar-winning The Brutalist. She joins Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Taylor Russell, Joe Alwyn, Michael Fassbender, and Lily McInerny in the ensemble. Corbet has described the film as an experimental, elemental work about the human body. Its reported four-hour runtime and intended NC-17 rating suggest audiences should not expect a conventional Western.

Speculation started when Seyfried shared Instagram Stories from Lisbon and tagged Mona Fastvold, Corbet’s partner and frequent collaborator. Fans connected the dots through Seyfried’s recent work on The Testament of Ann Lee, which Fastvold directed and co-wrote with Corbet. World of Reel later confirmed her involvement. Her recent work also includes You Can See Everything and The Housemaid. As for Jennifer’s Body 2, all that is left is an official studio announcement before fans can finally sink their teeth into the sequel.
