James Gunn’s DCU is starting to resemble somebody slowly emptying a toy box onto the floor. Superman introduced Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Supergirl, while Lanterns established John Stewart before his big-screen jump into Man of Tomorrow.

The Justice League pieces are gathering, yet Gotham’s billionaire-shaped vacancy remains painfully obvious. Bruce Wayne still has no confirmed DCU actor, and The Brave and the Bold continues developing somewhere inside the Batcave.

Now, however, a new rumor claims Gunn may be hiding Batman inside Man of Tomorrow itself.

Scooper and graphic designer James Mack has claimed that Bruce Wayne appears near the end of Man of Tomorrow, potentially revealing the actor chosen to become the DCU’s Batman and creating a direct runway toward The Brave and the Bold. None of this has been confirmed by James Gunn or DC Studios, so the Bat-Signal remains firmly inside rumor territory.

Mack’s other alleged script details paint Gunn’s sequel as a superhero traffic jam in the best possible way. He described it as an event film unfolding before an established Justice League exists and claimed Barry Allen receives a mention, which would establish the Flash somewhere inside the DCU. An archived version of Mack’s posts also shows him claiming he had received numerous script details from the movie.

Mack later deleted several of his specific posts, writing that he needed to remove some “VERY specific things.” That naturally poured gasoline onto fan speculation, although deleting posts proves neither studio intervention nor the accuracy of the information.

What is official already makes Man of Tomorrow enormous. David Corenswet’s Superman will team with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor against Lars Eidinger’s Brainiac, while John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, Supergirl, and Maxima are among the confirmed heroes and characters joining the movie. Filming wrapped in August, with Gunn completing an assembly cut by October.

Batman may be the mystery guest, but Superman himself could arrive with several wardrobe surprises packed inside the Fortress of Solitude.

The costume rumor mill has also been running faster than Barry Allen after free coffee. An unconfirmed report from DC Film News claims David Corenswet could wear roughly three Superman suits during Man of Tomorrow. One is reportedly a white space or armored suit capable of storing solar energy, while another rumored design features shorter sleeves and no cape. DC Studios has announced neither costume. 

Something about Superman’s wardrobe definitely changed, though. Corenswet recently confirmed that his main suit has been re-engineered.

“The suit itself is a little bit different,” he told PEOPLE, explaining that it has become slightly more functional and prepared for combat. 

That practical upgrade makes sense for a movie sending Clark against Brainiac while surrounding him with enough superheroes to fill half a Justice League lunch table. Whether the alleged space armor joins the party remains unverified. Man of Tomorrow arrives in theaters on July 9, 2027.
