Jameela Jamil caught massive backlash after the actress' old texts showed her using strong words while talking about Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us press tour to her publicist, Jennifer Abel. The texts showed her calling Lively villainous.
"She’s a suicide bomber at this point," Jamil wrote in part. 'I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before," she continued. These texts got Jamil under fire, however, in a recent TikTok video, she explained that her private text messages to her and Justin Baldoni’s publicist, Jennifer Abel, were taken out of context and had nothing to do with the lawsuit, which was filed months later.
“I think it’s really weird that my private text messages from 18 months ago have suddenly been released now. My name has deliberately been unredacted to cause as much trouble as possible for me, even though these text messages have nothing to do with the case,” she said in the TikTok.
She stressed the importance of timing and claimed that her messages were sent in August 2024, which was four months before Lively’s case against Baldoni (December 2024). Jamil addressed that the comments were simply about how she did not like the promotional work of the film, which is about a sensitive matter.
Jamil also criticized the decision to unredact her name, saying it felt targeted and unfair in the TikTok. As for her opinion on the matter, she explained that she prefers to stay quiet during active court cases. Apart from Jamil, several other celebrities' names were mentioned, and the one to make the most noise is Taylor Swift.
There is much to know about the text exchange between Swift and Lively and whether the singer is involved in the legal case between the actress and Baldoni.
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s text stirred the pot
Ahead of the trial of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s case, which is scheduled for May 18, 2026, several text messages between the actress and her friend, Taylor Swift, got public. One of those showed the singer allegedly criticizing the actor and director Baldoni, showing Lively allegedly calling the director "doofus director" and a "clown" in the texts.
“I think this b---- knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” Swift wrote in a text in December 2024. These text messages are reportedly being used as evidence in court trials.

Some reports even claimed that Swift could be summoned. However, Baldoni’s legal team told TMZ that it would be difficult to summon the singer, and the text messages are enough for the case. Coming back to Jameela Jamil’s texts, she has already clarified her side of the story. However, considering the other new revelations, the case is likely to continue to gain traction and debates.
