Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Tupac Shakur’s Hidden Struggle With Alopecia

Jada Pinkett Smith [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/jada-pinkett-smith/] had
been quite candid about her marriage with Will Smith
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/will-smith/]. However, the recent news of
their separation undeniably sent shockwaves across the internet. Essentially
because the Smith family had long been viewed as a unifying force. However, the
revelations of the American actress about her ‘soulmate’ Tupac Shakur are quite
unsettling for many. Netizens were quick to label it as an attempt to embarrass
Will Smith.

The Girls Trip actress is on a roll. Following her soulmate revelation, she
dropped another bombshell, disclosing that she shared a medical condition with
Shakur–alopecia. Evidently, this secret was concealed and has now come to light
through Smith’s words.

THE SHARED ALOPECIA BETWEEN JADA PINKETT SMITH AND SHAKUR

The Red Table Talk host, known for her candidness about living with alopecia,
recently revealed that her late friend Tupac Shakur shared the same condition in
an exclusive feature with PEOPLE magazine.

She disclosed that Tupac Shakur, the legendary rapper, silently battled alopecia
and rarely discussed this aspect of his life. It is an autoimmune disorder known
for causing unpredictable hair loss. Nevertheless, she acknowledged that he
carried the bald look with panache.

Their deep-rooted friendship began during their time at the Baltimore School for
the Arts, and Jada Pinkett Smith hopes that shedding light on her alopecia
journey, as well as Tupac Shakur’s, will help destigmatize the condition. This
condition affects approximately 6.7 million individuals in the United States
alone. This revelation seeks to open the door to more open conversations about
alopecia, promoting understanding and acceptance.

compared two snapshots: the first featured her with a shaved head, while the
second revealed her newly blonde and growing hair. Fans celebrated her

Alopecia UK describes alopecia as a general term for hair loss, and Pinkett
Smith specifically copes with alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing
patchy hair loss. The actress publicly addressed her hair loss battle in 2018
and displayed remarkable strength by donning a buzz cut in July 2021. The
condition grabbed controversy in 2022 and led her to detachment post the Oscars
