According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios is narrowing its shortlist, with four actors reportedly being tested over the coming week. The three names identified so far are Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Callum Turner (One Night Only) and Josh O’Connor (Disclosure Day). The fourth contender has not been named in the report, leaving room for further speculation.

But while the Bond casting conversation closes one door for Elordi, the actor has another meaningful project bringing him back to a familiar on-screen relationship. His next move involves honoring a former co-star whose final story is about to reach audiences in a deeply personal way.

Jacob Elordi to narrate Eric Dane’s posthumous memoir

Jacob Elordi will serve as the primary narrator of Eric Dane’s posthumous memoir, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, which is scheduled for release on November 3, 2026. According to Entertainment Weekly, Elordi will read most of the audiobook, while journalist Maria Shriver will narrate the introduction she wrote for the book. The collaboration carries particular emotional weight because Elordi and Dane portrayed Nate and Cal Jacobs, the complicated father-son duo at the heart of HBO’s Euphoria.

The memoir offers a candid account of Dane’s Hollywood career, personal struggles, and experience living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the progressive neurological disease that led to his death in February 2026 at age 53. Published through Shriver’s imprint, The Open Field, the book also reflects Dane’s desire to leave a lasting account of his life for his family, including his daughters, Billie and Georgia. Elordi’s involvement gives the audiobook an especially poignant connection to Euphoria, allowing one of Dane’s on-screen family members to help carry his words to listeners.

For Elordi, the immediate headlines may concern a missed opportunity to play the world’s most famous spy, but his upcoming narration project underscores another dimension of his work.
