Ever since Daniel Craig made his final appearance as James Bond in No Time to Die (2021), the question of who would inherit the iconic 007 mantle kept fans endlessly speculating. Amid the mystery, Bond girl Rosamund Pike rooted for Jacob Elordi to step into the role. The soft spot has emerged perhaps because of having worked alongside Elordi in Saltburn (2023), where Pike had seen his talent up close, which convinced her that he could be the perfect choice for the next James Bond.
As the conversation around the next James Bond intensifies and the list simply adds to itself, Jacob Elordi may have moved up a place or two, at least for Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike had already made her mark in the James Bond franchise, sharing the screen with Pierce Brosnan, the Bond before Daniel Craig, in Die Another Day (2002). As Miranda Frost, she slipped effortlessly into the role of a double agent, becoming one of the franchise’s most icy and dangerous Bond women. With Pike’s Bond legacy behind her, her support for Jacob Elordi certainly added serious credibility to his name.
During her interview with GQ for her recent play Inter Alia, she admitted she did not have a specific preference for who should take on the James Bond role, yet she still found herself endorsing her former co-star Elordi.
“He’s a fantastic actor. He certainly looks like a great Bond. I mean, why not?” Pike said in the interview.
Elordi and Pike played mother and son in Saltburn, Felix Catton and Lady Elspeth Catton. While Elordi has to embody the unknowing young boy pulled into Oliver Quick's scheming, which he eventually deduces but tragically falls prey to, Pike embodied an admirer of the unlikeable character that Barry Keoghan played.
And it seems Jacob Elordi could be closer than ever to stepping into the 007 spotlight, as The Rest Is Entertainment host Marina Hyde reported that he is “in pole position” to become the next Bond, according to multiple well-placed sources.
