Jacob Elordi Enters a Broken World in Ridley Scott’s 'The Dog Stars'
It is a great time to be a Jacob Elordi fan, as he continues to mesmerize audiences with one brilliant performance after another. Last year, he appeared as the terrifying creature in Frankenstein, and earlier this year, he showed up as brooding Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights. Furthermore, he reprised his role of manipulative and toxic Nate in Euphoria, season 3. Yet, it seems he has more hats to put on this year.
Later this year, he will step into a broken, post-apocalyptic world in The Dog Stars, searching for hope.

The first trailer of The Dog Stars is finally here, which shows glimpses of Jacob Elordi's character living in a post-apocalyptic world. The movie follows the time after a flu virus wiped out almost half of humanity, leaving a few who are struggling to hold on to hope. The character, Hig, played by Elordi, decides to leave his safe, isolated space built with his ex-Marine partner Bangley, after he receives a mysterious signal.
The trailer shows several glimpses of the world before the disaster, when Elordi’s character, who is a civilian pilot, has a wife and beloved dog. Although his wife is missing in the latter scenes from the post-apocalyptic world, Hig is accompanied by his dog. As Elordi's Hig sets out to explore the world outside his safe space, the trailer teases that he will have to face several dangers along the way.
Josh Brolin’s Bangley warned, “Happy people everywhere? The world it was doesn't exist.”
“This world fits you, Bangley,” Jacob Elordi’s character said. “Wake up, defend, survive. There's gotta be something better than this.”
While the trailer is finally here, when can fans expect the movie to drop in theaters?

Directed by Ridley Scott, the movie is based on a 2012 post-apocalyptic novel by Peter Heller. Apart from Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney are also part of the cast. With a powerful cast and brilliant story, the first trailer looks quite promising. Whether the film can beat these several other post-apocalyptic movies and meet the expectations of the novel remains to be seen.
