True to his title as the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne has lived a life so extraordinary that it does not need embellishment. His legacy lies in his brilliant career, powerful vocals, and groundbreaking contributions to metal music, which continue to be remembered and celebrated by his fans. Now, his larger-than-life story is headed to the big screen for a memorable biopic.
The much-awaited movie is currently in development, with his family, including his son Jack Osbourne, heavily involved in the project. And much like how the Black Sabbath legend always prioritized his fans, Jack Osbourne is seemingly following the same approach for the biopic, honoring his father's wish.

In a conversation with E! News, Jack Osbourne opened up about his involvement in the making of the Ozzy Osbourne biopic. He recalled that during his meetings with Sony, which is overseeing the project, he has always focused on one approach, which is giving fans what they would want. Keeping his father's wishes in mind, Osbourne shared that the biopic will not be “artsy,” as he believes that is not what fans would have wanted.
"We can’t make this artsy, esoteric biopic,'” he said. “No, we’re not doing that—for many reasons—but it’s not what the fans want.”

During the conversation with E! News, he explained that his father, Ozzy Osbourne, made music and toured around the world for his fans, and that taking the same approach with the biopic is something his father would have wanted. Jack Osbourne further revealed that the script for the movie is complete, and they are now looking for a director who can take the reins of the project. Interestingly, Osbourne also revealed that they already have an actor in mind to play the character, although he did not reveal who it is. It may be some time before more updates on the film’s production arrive.

At the same time, it explores his hopes of returning to music and whether he would be able to perform again.

The documentary is available to watch on Paramount+ and the Paramount+ Amazon Channel. There are also other documentaries focusing on the legend’s life and career, including Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home and The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne. As for the biopic, it might be closer to production now that the script is complete and there is already an actor in conversation.
