In 2021, a group of six on-screen and real-life friends came together for the infamous Friends Reunion. When the cast members sat in the chairs for filming, it reminded Matt LeBlanc of one of their memorable episodes. He brought up season 2 episode 15, where his character Joey Tribbiani surprised Chandler Bing with new recliners to make up for the stolen furniture. The episode showed how the best friend duo did not move from the Barcalounger for days. This storyline was a massive hit among fans, but Perry was not a fan of this idea.

During the reunion, when both Matthew Perry and LeBlanc sat on the recliners, LeBlanc shared how the 17 Again actor did not like the idea of them sticking to those recliners. Do you remember the beginning of the week after the table draft? You came to me and you go, ‘It’s so stupid!'” he said to Perry. Due to its simplistic plot device, the 54-year-old did not approve of it in the beginning. On the other hand, LeBlanc found it quite brilliant and insisted that they could have fun with this.
