Adam Driver has confirmed that his Star Wars journey is finished after Disney shelved his Kylo Ren movie. The actor spent years hoping to revisit the character after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Fans rented billboards and flew banner planes over Walt Disney Studios, hoping the studio would change course. Driver has now answered the question every fan kept asking, and the reply is refreshingly short.
While fans spent a year begging Disney for a miracle, Driver needed only a few words to close the case, and the reason is blunt.
Adam Driver says no more Star Wars after The Hunt for Ben Solo
Adam Driver is officially done with Star Wars. Disney rejected The Hunt for Ben Solo, his Kylo Ren film. Steven Soderbergh was set to direct, and Scott Z. Burns wrote the script.
“It’s over. No more Star Wars. We tried. We tried to do one more, but they were like, no, he’s dead,” Driver said on The Rich Eisen Show.
He added, “We worked on it for a few years, really, and earnestly for two years…It was awesome. It was really cool. But, you know, I don’t get to decide.”

Adam Driver told The Rich Eisen Show that he would return if Disney revived The Hunt for Ben Solo, though he believes that ship has sailed. Kathleen Kennedy backed the idea, but Bob Iger and Alan Bergman rejected it because they could not see how Ben Solo was alive. Lucasfilm boss Dave Filoni confirmed this summer that the film was not in active development, so hope is running low.
While Disney keeps Ben Solo locked away, Driver runs a tougher gate at home, where nothing arrives without being earned.
Adam Driver explains his strict parenting rule
Adam Driver has a firm rule at home, and it involves zero freebies. During an interview with E! News, the actor said his children enjoy far more privileges than he did. He called that a trap, since kids can start taking things for granted. His fix is simple. His son must understand where everything comes from and work to earn it, and Driver is not handing him anything for free.

Manners rank high for Driver, who is raising a son and a daughter with his wife, Joanne Tucker. Driver says his son is protective of his younger sister and was happy to welcome her home. Fatherhood has changed his career choices, since he told the SmartLess podcast in 2024 that he does not want to be away for long. A galaxy far, far away lost to the dinner table.
