Those who have followed Anthony Mackie, not just his filmography but also his interviews and other public interactions, can attest to the fact that the actor possesses a chaotic energy that can just break everyone present in the room into a laughing riot with just a single gesture or sentence. And this chaotic energy is only tripled when he is reunited with his two MCU co-stars, Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan.

Anthony Mackie has opened up about the unique challenges filmmakers face whenever he, Chris Evans, and Sebastian Stan share a set, noting that keeping the trio focused is no easy task. Having anchored major roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years - Mackie as Falcon/Captain America, Evans as Steve Rogers, and Stan as Bucky Barnes - the longtime co-stars have built a notorious dynamic.
During a recent appearance at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga, Mackie shared insights into his latest reunion with his longtime co-stars for Avengers: Doomsday. He admitted that whenever the three of them work together, they inevitably spark total pandemonium on set, spending far more time laughing, cheering, and cutting up than actually getting down to business.
"Whenever Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan and I get together, it’s like a powwow, like, we’re boys in the corner hanging out, laughing, joking and talking about what’s happening,” Mackie said.

He further said in the San Diego Comic-Con Málaga appearance that there was this question of which one of them was going to die in the movie initially posed by Stan. It is something that is consistent with the rumors sweeping the internet lately. Speculation suggests that Bucky Barnes could ultimately meet a tragic end at the hands of Victor von Doom, serving as the devastating catalyst that finally forces Marvel’s fractured heroes to bury the hatchet and unite to defeat Robert Downey Jr.’s formidable villain once and for all.
However, this is just a theory, and what will actually happen, even the actors in the movie do not know exactly, as Marvel never gives its cast full scripts.
Marvel and its long-standing trend of secrecy
Marvel has this thing where it protects specific plot points of a film like the nuclear codes, and in that effort employs different and bizarre methods to keep things from leaking. One of them is not giving their cast the full script. So, many times actors do not fully know what they are really signing up for. In the case of Anthony Mackie, this is not new, as during the filming of Avengers: Endgame, he had no idea he was going to receive the Captain America mantle. He only got to know when Chris Evans literally pulled him aside and let him know.

Recently, Alan C****** revealed during a SiriusXM interview dated September 24, 2026, that he does not fully understand the plot of Avengers: Doomsday. Given how disjointed his filmmaking experience became, his perplexity is understandable. C****** admitted that he had little visual context for the massive Marvel crossover that was taking place around Kurt Wagner because a large portion of his work was done against blue screens. The result of all these extraordinary efforts will only be seen on December 18 when the movie finally releases.
