Robert Pattinson has praised Steven Soderbergh for stepping in to help Matt Reeves bring The Batman: Part II across the finish line. The unexpected collaboration comes as the highly anticipated DC sequel resumes production following a brief pause. For a franchise built around Gotham’s shadows and Bruce Wayne’s relentless pursuit of justice, the support behind the camera is proving just as important as the action onscreen.
Behind the scenes, however, the story is not simply about a celebrated filmmaker lending a hand. Soderbergh’s arrival carries a practical significance for a production that needs to preserve Reeves’s creative vision while moving toward the finish line.
Robert Pattinson is grateful for Steven Soderbergh’s help
Speaking to GamesRadar+, Robert Pattinson expressed his happiness about Steven Soderbergh joining the production to help Matt Reeves complete the film.
“It’s incredibly generous of him, and he’s doing it in the loveliest way. It’s completely selfless,” Pattinson said.
The latest update offers a welcome sign of progress for fans awaiting the next chapter of Matt Reeves’s Gotham saga. Following a brief production pause as Reeves dealt with a family issue, Robert Pattinson has confirmed that filming is moving forward again.

“I think they’re in production already,” before adding, “And I’m starting in a couple of days.” the actor said to GamesRadar+. His comments suggest that the production is getting back into its planned rhythm, with Pattinson preparing to return as Gotham’s troubled protector.
Soderbergh’s involvement is especially notable because the Ocean’s Eleven and Contagion filmmaker is not replacing Matt Reeves as the director. Instead, DC announced that Soderbergh would “complete the final weeks of principal photography on The Batman Part II,” with both filmmakers working closely with the cast and crew to fulfill Reeves’s vision.
The next chapter of Pattinson’s career is already taking shape beyond Gotham, and his latest release shows why he continues to gravitate toward characters that demand more than a familiar blockbuster performance.
Robert Pattinson’s Primetime earns strong reviews ahead of Dune: Part Three
Robert Pattinson’s 2026 run has taken him from the relationship drama The Drama, opposite Zendaya, to Christopher Nolan’s mythological epic The Odyssey, before leading Primetime, directed by Lance Oppenheim. In Primetime, he plays Chris Hansen, the journalist and television host associated with To Catch a Predator, recreating Hansen’s distinctive accent, mannerisms, and on-screen persona. The film has earned an 86% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside a 77% audience score, at the time of writing.

Pattinson’s packed schedule continues with Dune: Part Three, Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming continuation of the science-fiction saga, scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. He will play Scytale, a character drawn from Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, joining a cast that includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and returning franchise stars. He is also attached to Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood, a heist thriller co-starring Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones, although its release timing has been subject to reporting about a possible move into 2027.
With Soderbergh lending his expertise and Reeves’s vision remaining central to the production, the sequel appears to be moving forward with its creative foundations intact.
